Kevin O’Neill Announces Candidacy for Second Term As Aurora Library Board Trustee
Kevin O’Neill has announced that he is a candidate for Trustee on the Aurora Public Library District Board in the upcoming election April 1, 2025.
After serving for the last two years as a Trustee, O’Neill wants to continue to use his business and leadership skills to help shape library policies and provide fiscal oversight. “I ask more questions than most of my colleagues,” he said. “Knowing how the library operates, how funds are being spent, and asking staff members to explain their recommendations, are part of the oversight responsibilities that I take seriously.”
O’Neill went on to say, “I am committed to the success of the library system as it offers materials, services and community events that enrich the lives of Aurora residents.” He has four goals for the library: renovating the Eola and West branches, adapting services and programs to meet the needs and interests of Aurorans, maintaining a professional and engaged library staff, and expanding the library’s partnerships with civic and community organizations.
O’Neill has served on other community and nonprofit boards including the Mayor of Aurora’s Sustainability Advisory Board and St. Charles Singers Board of Directors.
A 12-year resident of Aurora, O’Neill spent his career in the professional education field with a global consulting company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance and an MBA. He is a frequent user of the Eola branch and a strong supporter of the library’s mission.
